ALLOWED TO BIRTH PRIVATE SCREENING

A Community Documentary Screening

Friday, October 16, 2026 · Trenton / Chattanooga Area

Birth deserves conversation.

Join us for a special community screening of Allowed to Birth: The Journey of a Global Midwife — an evening for families, birth workers, and anyone curious about the way we approach pregnancy, birth, midwifery, and maternal care.

What started as a little “Would anyone want to come if I hosted this?” has quickly turned into something our community is making happen together.

The screening is officially funded — and now we want YOU there.

[ RESERVE YOUR SEAT — $20 ]

Tickets are limited and reservations are first come, first served.

About the Film

Allowed to Birth follows international midwife Kristine Lauria and invites viewers into a larger conversation about physiological birth, maternity care, informed decision-making, autonomy, and the role of midwives.

This isn't a film just for people planning home births.

It's for pregnant mothers, partners, parents, grandparents, doulas, midwives, nurses, childbirth educators, students, and anyone interested in how we support mothers and babies.

Come curious. Come with questions. Come ready to talk about birth.

A Small Event. A Bigger Conversation.

What started with a simple question — “Would anyone be interested if I brought this film here?” — has turned into something pretty incredible.

Our community showed up.

Local families, birth workers, midwives, businesses, and supporters helped us raise enough to expand what was originally going to be a tiny 20-person private screening into a community screening for up to 75 people.

And now we want to fill the room.

Join us for a screening of Allowed to Birth: The Journey of a Global Midwife and an evening dedicated to learning, connecting, and starting meaningful conversations about birth and the way women are supported while bringing life into the world.

Come Early & Make an Evening of It

Doors open at 6:00 PM.

We'll have an hour before the film to mingle, grab something to eat, meet local birth professionals, visit our vendors and sponsors, and connect with other families in the community.

The film begins at 7:00 PM.

We are working on having food and refreshments available, including popcorn, homemade cookies, drinks, and additional options from local vendors.

SPECIAL THANK YOUS TO THE SPONSORS and everyone who DONATED!

This screening would not be happening without the people who looked at this little idea and said:

Yes. Bring it here.

A huge thank you to our individual donors and especially to the birth professionals and businesses who stepped forward with larger sponsorships to help make the community screening possible.
