Birth deserves conversation.
Join us for a special community screening of Allowed to Birth: The Journey of a Global Midwife — an evening for families, birth workers, and anyone curious about the way we approach pregnancy, birth, midwifery, and maternal care.
What started as a little “Would anyone want to come if I hosted this?” has quickly turned into something our community is making happen together.
The screening is officially funded — and now we want YOU there.

About the Film
Allowed to Birth follows international midwife Kristine Lauria and invites viewers into a larger conversation about physiological birth, maternity care, informed decision-making, autonomy, and the role of midwives.
This isn't a film just for people planning home births.
It's for pregnant mothers, partners, parents, grandparents, doulas, midwives, nurses, childbirth educators, students, and anyone interested in how we support mothers and babies.
Come curious. Come with questions. Come ready to talk about birth.
A Little Community Movie Night
We're keeping this gathering simple, cozy, and community-centered.
Your $20 reservation includes admission to the screening, along with light refreshments including:

We are currently finalizing our venue in Trenton or Lookout Valley, approximately 35 minutes from Chattanooga. Everyone with a reserved ticket will receive the final location and event details as soon as they're confirmed.

Our community has already raised enough to secure the screening!
Our first goal was $500, allowing 20 people to attend. Our next goal is $750, which upgrades us to a full community screening for up to 75 people.
Every ticket reserved and every sponsorship helps us get there.
